Away from the disappointment of the Town first team cup exit at Elmore, there was also disappointment for the Town second team, though in their case it was down to inactivity, with the Saturday morning rain rendering the Southern Road surface unfit for any action in terms of their meeting with Feniton for a Macron League top flight game.

Town thirds were in action though. They played their first home game and were beaten 1-0 in a close encounter at the Archery Club where they lost 1-0 to Devon Yeoman.

In terms of the Town youth teams, the Under-13s were in cup action away at Cullompton Rangers, where they went down 11-2.

Despite the result, Town U13 boss Nick James was staying upbeat, saying: “I am really proud of the team and their all-round effort at Cully.
“We missed three or four very good chances and had a couple of goals disallowed. What was most pleasing was that the lads never gave up.”

The Town Under-18s continued their unbeaten start to the new term with an emphatic 10-0 win at Ottery St Mary. Four goals to the good at half-time, Town stepped up a gear after the break, netting six more to secure a handsome clean sheet success.

Ollie Cox led the scoring honours with a hat-trick while Morgan Cullen bagged a brace and single goals were scored by Tom Bray, Tom Prout, Jack Vickery, Josh Gresham and Max Handford

There was no game at the weekend for the Town Under-11s.
