Withycombe Under-16s were 19-10 winners when they entertained Topsham, who had won the previous meeting between the teams this season.
Early pressure from Withy ended with an initial charge by Harry Neath Rogers, who found Harry Cartwright, who powered over the line taking a number of Topsham players with him and five minutes into the contest the home side had a 5-0 lead.
The Tops hit back, but were repelled by solid defence before Symons and Farrant were involved in a move that ended with Dawson crossing the line and an Aaron Lee conversion made it 12-0.
The Withy momentum continued and when the ball was fed out of the scrum by Joe Blyth it arrived with Dawson, who sprinted clear for his second try and another Lee conversion saw Withy into a 19-0 lead.
The Tops scored next, but it was Withy who trooped off with a useful half-time advantage.
Throughout the first half, Jake Lewis was solid at full back and new player Harry Phillips demonstrated good skill as he gathered a difficult high ball and managed several times to break the gain line and made ground.
There was just a single score after the break, but the second half was not short on enterprising play and good, solid and disciplined defence from both teams.
Throughout the game, the Withy line defence proved yet again to be almost impenetrable, which has been a striking feature of their game from the start of the season. Leading by example, captain Luke Davis put in a huge effort.
Cameron Bennett and Josh Saunders stopped some early attacks and worked hard in the rucks, securing turnovers while Ollie Cowley and Luke Davis put in good shifts in their defensive roles.
