Cranbrook boss: “We need to string some results together or we face a long - tough - season.”

Cranbrook suffered a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Bampton Reserves in a Macron League Division Five game.

Reece Saunders scored during the opening 30 minutes in which Cranbrook totally bossed the contest.

However, failure to clear a set-piece led to an equaliser before the break and the visitors punished a defensive error 15 minutes from time to take all three points.

Cranbrook boss Jon Martin said: “This current inconsistency is something that I haven’t experienced in the last three seasons. The thing is, one of our long-standing strengths has been the ability to score goals, but right now we are missing wheel barrow loads! Saturday’s game against Central will be another tough game, especially with the way we’re playing at the moment.

“We’ve just got to try to stick together and weather the storm. Hopefully things will turn around and we’ll be able to put some results together. If not it’s going to be a long – and tough – season.”
