Brixington Blues Under-14s shared four goals with Central in an Exeter and District Youth League meeting.

Blues started well and dominated the first 25 minutes during which time Ethan Beverley was denied the opening goal by a superb diving save from the Central goalkeeper.

There was another ‘near thing’ when Elliott Bowyer, Joel Nott and Jack Drew-Cull combined.

At the other end of the pitch, skipper Jake Haggerty, Harrison Fox and Lewis Ayles combined well in front of goalkeeper Russ Bracey.

The opening goal came from a slick breakaway by Central and they took their lead into the interval.

Blues made a number of changes during the break and one of them, Joe Gosling, made an instant impact almost scoring with his very first touch!

Then, shortly after a fine save from Thomas Rowsell, play switched to the opposite end of the pitch where Joel Knott scored to round off a fine team move.

Another confident passing move ended with Knott scoring his second to give Blues a 2-1 lead,

Haydon Simpson and Ben Geare linked up well before Drew-Cull had a shot well saved before a long ball caught the Blues back line out and Central scored what proved to be the game’s fourth and final goal.

The Blues Man of the Match award went to Joel Knott.
