Exmouth Town footballers face a big - and busy - weekend of action

Exmouth Town are all set for a big weekend of football action.

Top billing, naturally, goes to the senior team, who take on Bridgwater Town in an FA Vase tie at Southern Road with kick-off being 3pm.

Bridgwater Town currently sit top of the Toolstation League Premier Division. In their seven league games so far they have won five, drawn one and lost one.

Their only league defeat so far has been a September 4,1-0 defeat at home to Plymouth Parkway.

In terms of their away games so far this season, the Somerset side lost their first away game of the season – beaten 3-2 at Cheddar in an FA Cup tie.

They have won all three of their away league games so far, winning 2-1 at Hallen, 8-0 at Chipping Sodbury Town and, most recently, last week they won 4-1 at Hengrove Athletic.

Town are in equally decent form after their midweek home, 4-1 win over previously unbeaten Saltash United, so a cracking FA Vase tie is expected.

The Southern Road gates will be open at 1pm as will the clubhouse bar and the refreshment hut.

Entry to the FA Vase tie: Adults (£5), Concessions (O65/U18) £4 and Under-16s £3.

There is also cup action for the Town second team, who make the relatively short trip across to Beer where they meet the Fishermen in a Devon Senior Cup tie that kicks off at 2pm. Cup action too for Town thirds who are in Exeter taking on Priory Reserves in a Devon Intermediate Cup tie (2pm).

Before the three Saturday afternoon senior matches there is an outing for the Exmouth Town Under-13s, who take on Copplestone at the Archery Club (12.15pm).

On Sunday there are two more Town matches with the Under-11s meeting Lyme Regis at Southern Road with that game kicking-off at 10.30am and, to round off a busy afternoon of Under-18s football, the Town Under-18s face Feniton U18s in an East Devon derby which kicks-off at Southern Road at 2pm.
