Cockles head coach Jon Hill is to leave the Imperial Ground.

The club made the announcement via a statement they issued which read: “Exmouth RFC has concluded its eight year association with head coach Jon Hill at the close of this season. Jon has been integral to two promotions to National League 2 South and 5 Devon Cup titles during his time at the club. Exmouth RFC sincerely thanks Jon for the development and progress of a young squad and also his commitment across a number of functions within the club. Jon leaves with very best wishes from all at Exmouth RFC.”

Speaking after the announcement, Hill said: “I would like to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome at the club and for the roles they have played in supporting me whilst I have been with Exmouth for the last eight seasons.

“The players throughout my time have been magnificent, and their efforts truly appreciated.

“The talents in the current squad are in abundance and have achieved some superb accolades for the club along the way.

“Thank you for the memories – ones that will stay with me forever, and I wish you all the best.”

There will be a full interview with the departing Cockles head coach in this week’s Exmouth Journal – out next on Thursday, May 17.
