Police are treating the discovery of two bodies at a secluded house near Honiton as a domestic murder and suicide.

Devon and Cornwall Police have launched an investigation after the bodies of a 62-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were found at Abbey Mill Farm, Dunkeswell.

Detectives are looking into the circumstances surrounding the deaths which are being treated as domestic related murder and suicide.

Speaking yesterday (Thursday, January 5), Detective Inspector Steve Davies, from the Major Crime Unit, said: “We are conducting house-to-house enquiries and have been carrying out searches at the premises today.

“We are not looking for any other person in connection with this isolated incident and can confirm that no other person was present at the premises at the time of this incident.”

Officers attended an address in Dunkeswell at 11.40am on Wednesday, January 4, following concerns for the welfare of a man and woman at the premises.

On arrival officers found the man and the woman, who were husband and wife, deceased.

A scene guard remained at the property last night while forensic examination and searches were conducted.
