Fire crews are battling a blaze at Newton Poppleford; a garage has caught fire and spread to neighbouring property.

The fire broke out in a garage attached to a bungalow at Little Down Orchard earlier this morning, the fire service said.

There are five appliances currently at the scene, plus specialist equipment and the aerial platform.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said a garage was ‘well alight’.

He said the fire had spread to the roof of a bungalow attached to the garage and also to a neighbouring garage.
