The deadline for applications for funding from the East Devon Parishes Together scheme is on Thursday, February 8.

The deadline for town and parish councils to apply for financial help with community projects is looming.

There is still £104,300 left in the East Devon Parishes Together Fund with the cut-off date for applications for the 2017/18 financial year approaching on February 8.

East Devon’s town and parish councils have so far only been granted around £20,000 from the £124,000 pot of funding this financial year.

The Parishes Together Fund is a joint East Devon District Council and Devon County Council initiative where £1.10 per elector in each parish is put into a central pot, which parish and town councils can then apply to for funding towards community projects.

While applications to the fund have to come from town and parish councils - voluntary and community groups, schools and other organisations can put their ideas forward to their town or parish councillors.
