The district council has called on car park users to take advantage of the cheaper car park prices, which end on March 31.

Motorists have just six weeks to take advantage of a special winter car parking deal from the district council.

District bosses have reminded residents and visitors that they can benefit from cheaper parking across East Devon.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) is allowing motorists to park in its car parks all day after 10am for £2 until March 31.

Councillor Iain Chubb, portfolio holder for the environment, said there was an extra 17,000 customers in November and December last year- in comparison with the same period in 2015.

He added: “We remain committed to supporting local businesses within the district and hope that this initiative will be a catalyst for increased trade over the winter period and well into the spring.

“This amazing offer is a truly win win situation for everyone. Our visitors and residents are getting stunning value for money.”
