Camera captures Cranbrook’s development

Hundreds of photos will be collected, showing the build’s progress.

A still picture camera has been installed in Cranbrook, allowing a glimpse into the day to day building developments of East Devon’s new town.

The camera, which is fixed on top of the Young Hayes Centre, has been taking daily pictures for the last year, providing a unique insight into the work being done.

The camera takes snaps of a Taylor Wimpy showhome and its surroundings, cataloguing the work being done in the first phase of construction in the Cranbrook.

A spokeswoman for the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point said: “The original idea of setting this camera up was to study it and see how we are doing on the build of Cranbrook.

“It’s also useful as it provides us with historical records and photographs, which are essential to Cranbrook’s heritage.”

Plans with what to do with the pictures once they are collected are still being discussed.
