Described as the ‘South West’s finest 17-piece big band, specialising in the unforgettable music of the swing era’, the band is directed by Ken Parr and includes vocalist Paula Mitchell.

The charity performance will feature a special tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, and the concert is in aid of the ‘Meet and Remember Club’.

“The club is a wonderful meeting place for people suffering with mild dementia and memory problems,” says a spokesperson for the band. “It’s a very worthy cause to support!”

The concert is at 7.30pm on Friday, October 13 at St Thomas Methodist Church, 110 Cowick Street, Exeter, EX4 1JE.

Tickets are £15 (unreserved), available from the Tourist Information Centre, Dix’s Field, Exeter, EX1 1GF. Ticketline: 01392 665885 or visit www.wegottickets.com
